Ruth Langsford has shared a fresh update on her mother’s health, following a recent accident. The Loose Women panellist previously revealed that Joan, 93, suffered a fall and fractured her pelvis, no more than a year after breaking her hip.
While the family was grateful that Joan required no surgery, she was encouraged to take some time to heal in hospital. Just last night, she was finally given the green light to come home, joining both Ruth and her dog, Maggie.
Posting to Instagram, Ruth said: “SHE’S HOME!!! Mum is finally out of hospital! Thank you to all the nursing staff at St. Peter’s Hospital and Woking Community Hospital for taking such good care of her.”
Sharing a snap of Maggie and Joan together, she added: “As you can see, Maggie is VERY happy to have her home!” The emotional news comes just two months after Ruth battled a health issue of her own, previously disclosing to followers that she’d been housebound for days.
“I’ve had a couple of days at home with the lurgy but feeling better today so I ventured out for a stroll with Maggie,” she said at the time, according to SurreyLive, before commenting: “Nice to get some fresh air.”
Ruth’s health battles also follow her recent break up with former ITV co-star Eamonn Holmes. The pair had been married for 14 years before they declared their split in May, 2024.
Eamonn was seen in Barcelona last September with his rumoured flame, Katie Alexander, who is 22 years younger than him. Reports suggest Eamonn and Katie met a couple of years ago and became friends during difficult times with Ruth.
