Earlier this month, we asked you what Bristol’s best Chinese is – and we can now reveal the places that have made it to the top five.
A good Chinese is just what your body craves sometimes. From prawn crackers to springs rolls, fried rice to Chow Mein, there are so many delicious options when it comes to ordering a Chinese.
There are many things that make a Chinese stand out from others, such as the flavour of the dishes. And, after asking our readers, three Chinese takeaways in South Bristol have made it to the top five.
These are China Capital on Ashton Road, Xing Wang on Harrowdene Road and Beijing Express along St John’s Lane. Much-loved Mayflower – which had to relocate as a result of the redevelopment of the Premier Inn by the Bearpit and still hasn’t reopened – also made it to the shortlist.
The last Chinese to make it to the top five is Marlings, along Marling Road in St George. We are now asking you to cast your vote below:

Last month, we revealed that a pub in Bristol city centre serves the city’s best Sunday roast, according to our readers. After more than 700 votes were cast, The Famous Royal Navy Volunteer on King Street was the clear winner after receiving 310 votes.
We have also found out where the city’s best greasy spoon is. After nearly a thousand votes were cast, Abbots Kitchen on Dundry Road, in Whitchurch, South Bristol, became the winner after receiving 432 votes.
We also asked our readers to recommend the best fish and chip shop in Bristol and, after just over a thousand votes were cast, Marios Fish Bar on Pool Road, Kingswood, was the clear winner after receiving 586 votes.
