Strictly Come Dancing host Claudia Winkleman has candidly admitted to making an annual blunder due to her forgetfulness.

Despite presenting the BBC hit series since 2010, Winkleman still suggests celebrities for the show who have already taken part in past Strictly seasons.

Speaking to Times Radio, Claudia revealed: “Anything I’ve done, I literally can’t remember. Do you know at the end of every year at the end of Strictly they go: ‘Can you put five names in a hat?’

“Everybody, props boys, crew, everybody. They ask: ‘Who would you like to see?’ It’s not that official, but who would you like. Without a doubt, and I don’t try and do this, I write down people who have already done it.

“I go: ‘Do you know who I’d like to see – Alesha Dixon. They go: ‘You know she won – she was amazing.'”

Claudia also touched on her emotional investment in her latest project, stating in HELLO! magazine that by the end of filming for The Traitors, she considers the contestants as her “children” and sometimes finds herself tearful when any are banished from the show, reports Lancs Live.

She confessed: “There is somebody this year, and you can’t see it, but I really cried when they were banished.”

Due to its massive success in the UK, Traitors has been renewed for a fourth series, with a celebrity spin-off also on the cards. To keep the format fresh, producers continually introduce clever tweaks to make the show’s twists even more surprising.

“There are some really exciting things that have changed, which keeps everyone on the toes and feeds into the central premise of trust,” Claudia reveals.
