Booking a getaway may be on your mind after Christmas and New Year celebrations. Whether you want to beat the January blues in their tracks, look forward to a bit of summer sun, or simply want to get away from it all, we’re fortunate enough to have flights right on our doorstep.

From colourful city breaks in must-visit locations, to bucket list holidays – you can fly to many of them straight from Bristol Airport. We’ve put together a list of just some of the newest destinations added to our local airport’s list over the past 12 months, with two brand new summer routes announced to be coming soon.

Agadir, Morocco

You can fly directly from Bristol to Agadir in Morocco up to four times a week, with easyJet and Jet2. This city along Morocco’s southern Atlantic coast, in the foothills of the Anti-Atlas Mountains, is the capital of Agadir-Ida Ou Tanane province. A resort destination, it’s known for its golf courses, wide crescent beach and seaside promenade lined with cafes, restaurants and bars.

Almeria, Spain

A new easyJet year round service from Bristol to Almeria in Spain will launch on June 24, 2025, operating twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Jet2.com has been offering direct flights from Bristol to Almeria since May. Situated in southeast Spain, the city boasts plenty of things to explore, including a fortress, gothic cathedral, museum, pier and underground tunnels.

You can fly up to eight times a week with easyJet and Ryanair to Copenhagen from Bristol. Denmark’s capital is filled with history, colourful houses and harbour, monuments, and even one of the world’s oldest amusement parks.

Fuerteventura, Canary Islands

You can fly up to eight times a week with easyJet, Jet2, Ryanair and Tui, to Fuerteventura from Bristol. The second largest of Spain’s Canary Islands, this popular holiday hotspot is known for its white sandy beaches, and warm temperatures, as well as its water sports – making for an ideal summer getaway if you’re looking for sun, sea and sand.

Istanbul, Turkey

You can fly twice a week with easyJet from Bristol to Istanbul. This historic major city is full of cultural landmarks of eras gone by – from open-air hippodromes previously used for chariot races to Egyptian obelisks, and more. And that’s before you even talk about the other grand buildings, architecture and bazaars to explore.

Izmir, Turkey

Another Turkey destination, you will be able to fly once a week(between May and October) to Izmir, a city on the country’s Aegean coast. This destination is full of historic architecture, elegant mosques, expansive archaeological sites, traditional bazaars, and even ancient Greek ruins to explore.

Luqa, Malta

You can fly up to four times a week between February and November, from Bristol to Malta. Malta International Airport is situated in Luqa, a town located in the southern region of the country.

Another Morocco destination on this list, you can fly up to four times a week from Bristol to Marrakech, with easyJet and Ryanair. Marrakech boasts mosques, palaces and gardens, a walled medieval city, and marketplaces selling traditional textiles, pottery and jewellery.

Palermo, Sicily

Another new easyJet route will take travellers to Sicily’s capital of Palermo, launching on June 26 and flying twice weekly throughout the summer, on Thursdays and Sundays. Palermo boasts busy markets, historic royal palaces, tombs, a cathedral and a huge venue known for opera performances.

Prague, Czech Republic

You can fly up to five times a week from Bristol to Prague with easyJet, Jet2 and Ryanair. The capital and largest city of the Czech Republic, it’s known for its Old Town Square, with baroque buildings, gothic churches and the medieval Astronomical Clock, which gives an animated hourly show.

Skiathos, Greece

You can fly up to five times a week between May and October, from Bristol to Skiathos. This Greek island in the northwest Aegean Sea is part of the Sporades archipelago, and is known for its white sandy beaches and buzzing nightlife. Skiathos Town boasts bars and restaurants along the old harbour, including a number of open-air waterfront clubs, too.

Sofia, Bulgaria

You can fly up to three times a week until March, from Bristol to Sofia, with Ryanair. The capital of the Balkan nation of Bulgaria, the city’s landmarks reflect more than 2,000 years of history, but is also a popular destination for skiers.

Symi, Greece

You can fly up to four times a week between April and November, from Bristol to Symi. What’s more, you can fly to Rhodes and take a ferry to Symi with Jet2 Holidays. This Greek island, part of the Dodecanese island group, is known for its beaches, an annual music festival and for the harbour at Symi Town, surrounded by colourful neoclassical houses.

Tirana, Albania

You can fly up to two times a week from Bristol to Tirana, with Ryanair. The capital and largest city of Albania, it is known for its colourful architecture, with pastel buildings surrounding the city’s focal point, Skanderberg Square. There’s also a National History Museum, and a backdrop of mountains and more, to explore.

Tivat, Montenegro

You can fly up to two times a week between June and August, from Bristol to Tivat. This coastal town, located in the Bay of Kotor, is described as ‘glamour meets history’, with the harbour full of ‘expensive yachts, chic apartment buildings and restaurants’.

Tromsø, Norway

You can continue flying directly from Bristol to Tromsø in Norway, twice a week, until March. Located some 350km north of the Arctic Circle (and 2200km south of the North Pole) Tromsø boasts an abundance of wintry activities. These include admiring the Northern Lights, whale watching, reindeer sledding, dog sledding, snowmobile safaris, skiing, a stay in the ice hotel, a tour of the famous Arctic Cathedral and more.
