The Masked Singer viewers are convinced the true identity of the Giant Joel persona has accidentally been exposed. During the Boxing Day special, viewers were astonished by the new doppelganger character, resembling host Joel Dommett.
The official reveal is set for the launch episode of series six, airing on January 4. However, on Virgin Media Television’s Instagram, eagle-eyed fans spotted a telling post with multiple photos, including one featuring Sir Mo Farah alongside the show’s celebrity detectives.
This has sparked suspicion that the Olympic athlete may be hiding behind the Giant Joel disguise. On social media, one fan questioned: “Have @virginMedia_TV just given away who Giant Joel is? #MaskedSingerUK.”
Another echoed the thought, “Have you just given away who Giant Joel is? I did think it sounded like Mo Farah and then you post this..”
The following day on Good Morning Britain, Kate Garraway found Giant Joel’s appearance “so disturbing” and attempted to pry out clues, reports the Mirror.
When she asked if he was as well-liked as the real Joel, he responded with a thumbs-up, prompting her to quip, “That doesn’t give us any help! Everyone loves Joel.”
The character, who was using foam paddles to respond with yes or no due to being on voice rest, confirmed they were more attractive and funnier than former I’m A Celeb star Joel. However, when Adil Ray, Kate’s co-host, asked if there was a link to the ITV reality show, the response was negative.
Later, Adil speculated that it might be Olympian Sir Mo Farah behind the mask. Instead of responding with the foam hand, the character simply shrugged.
Kate then proposed that it could be Mysterious Girl singer Peter Andre behind the mask. Viewers will have to watch the first episode of the new series to see if Mo is Giant Joel.
