One person is in police custody and two suspects are being sought more than four months after a man was found dead in a Port Colborne ditch.

Niagara Regional Police on Thursday announced the arrest of 36-year-old Jade Hayward of St. Catharines for first-degree murder.

Hayward was held for a bail hearing in St. Catharines.

On Friday, police named two more suspects, Jacob Cudney and Richard Stevens, both 47 and of Niagara Falls, who face charges of first-degree murder as well.

“Both men are encouraged to contact legal counsel and make arrangements to surrender themselves into police custody,” cops said in a news release.

Investigators said Cudney and Stevens are considered to be armed and dangerous, and should not be approached.

Police said officers responded to the area of Forkes Rd. and Hwy. 140 in Port Colborne on the afternoon of Aug. 24 following a report of a dead man found in a grassy area off the roadway.
