A man has been stabbed during an incident at a block of flats in west Belfast.
The incident happened in the South Link area of the city shortly after 5:30pm.
Police attended an address with the ambulance service and a man was treated at the scene for a wound to his arm and hand.
A short time later Armed Response officers were scrambled to locate a suspect in the same block of flats.
Specialist officers with guns and TASERs drawn shouted warnings before forcing entry to a first-floor flat.
The heavily armed team swept the apartment but no one was found.
Officers then focused on a second property in the block – again warnings of “armed police, come to the door” were shouted.
The ARV team then gained entry using an enforcer, but the suspect was not located in the second flat.
A small police presence remains at the scene as evidence is gathered from the apartment block where the incident is believed to have occurred.
Police have been contacted for comment.
