The funeral of a Co Tyrone woman who died suddenly on New Year’s Day will take place this weekend.
Arlene Hardy passed away suddenly on Wednesday at her home in Dungannon.
The mother-of-three worked at the social club at Loughgall FC, where she was a popular and well-known face.
The club posted a tribute which said: “With heavy hearts we share the passing of our much loved barmaid Arlene, like a mother figure amongst our bar staff and more than a barmaid to our customers.
“Arlene will be sorely missed by everyone in the club but especially by her wee family. We will be keeping them in our thoughts.
“Rest easy Arlene.”
Fans and officials at the club posted tributes to Ms Hardy, describing it as “heartbreaking” and “devastating” news.
One friend posted: “The kindest person with the biggest smile and hugs. Blessed to have worked with Arlene and to have memories to treasure.”
Another said: “A beautiful woman who was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be sorely missed. Thinking of her mummy and family at this sad time.”
Also paying tribute were Loughgall players including Nathaniel Ferris and Ally Teggart.
Mr Ferris posted: “Heartbreaking news. Such a lovely person. Thoughts are with her family and friends.”
In a poignant final post on her social media account on New Year’s Eve, Ms Hardy shared a message with friends and family writing: “A very Happy New Year to you all! Wishing you a peaceful and memorable 2025.”
A family notice described her as a “dearly loved mother”, “much loved daughter” and “a dear sister”.
It added: “Will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family and all the family circle.”
A funeral service will take place on Saturday in St. Anne’s Church, Dungannon at noon, with a private family committal.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made payable to the National Deaf Children’s Society,
