Max O’Leary – 6
Made some important saves to keep Bristol City level early in the first half and dealt with the difficult conditions well. Would have been disappointed to not keep a clean sheet given the little threat the home side posed.
Luke McNally – 6
Although he had a few shaky moments where he looked to be caught under the ball, he produced a huge block to deny Ryan Hardie midway through the first half. Did appear to be slightly out of position for the home side’s first leveller, however and also gave away a needless free-kick for the last-minute leveller as well.
Rob Dickie – 6
The experienced head in City’s backline produced some big interventions to keep the home side at arm’s length and pulled off an excellent block to stop an early cross causing all sorts of problems. Will have been disappointed with the backline’s collapse.
Zak Vyner – 6
Looks like he has been rejuvenated since City switched to a three-at-the-back system. Carried a threat going forward that he hasn’t always managed to while also getting stuck in defensively. Like the rest of the team, would have been irritated by the manner of both goals.
Cam Pring (off for Haydon Roberts, 42′) – 6
The left-back’s afternoon was cut short by an injury sustained in the first half. He had a rough afternoon against Matthew Sorinola but did what he could to keep him quiet and put a few good crosses of his own into the box.
Jason Knight – 8
As he has done time and time again, the captain delivered when he needed to. Having battled away in the middle of the park, the calmness of his finish to restore City’s lead was excellent. He told us he wanted to score more goals in the second half and he did exactly that.
Max Bird – 8
The former Derby County man’s range of passing is excellent. His ball through to Nahki Wells in the lead-up to City’s opener was delightful and he got City ticking with his front-foot style. Got stuck in, in the middle of the park.
George Tanner (off for Ross McCrorie, 60′) – 7
Handed his first start since the Reds’ win over Preston North End in November and went about his work well. Perhaps was slightly out of position for the home side’s leveller but it is hard to be too critical when he seemingly had two different players to mark.
Scott Twine (off for Yu Hirakawa, 60′) – 7
Didn’t have the most impactful of afternoons as the right number 10 in Manning’s system, but did play the pass that created Knight’s goal. He’s a player who has been signed for quality moments and that’s what he tends to deliver, even when he isn’t at his best.
Anis Mehmeti (off for George Earthy, 83′) – 7
It may not have been his most challenging of finishes, but the Albanian scored his ninth of the season at Home Park. Though he was guilty of not getting his head up at times when he had options in the box, he posed a constant threat and is the man of the moment currently.

Nahki Wells (off for Sam Bell, 60′) – 8
Bristol City’s Benjamin Button. He may be 34 and in the final months of his City contract but the Bermudian international is ageing like a fine wine. Lead the line brilliantly and showed his nouse to pass to Mehmeti instead of shooting for the Robins’ opener. Should have arguably doubled the Reds’ lead with his early volley in the second half.
Substitutes:
Haydon Roberts – 5
Ended up dragged out of position for Argyle’s leveller and that left Tanner with an awful lot of work to do on his own. A few good touches in possession but a quiet afternoon on the whole.
