It might be New Year’s Day but there is a good chance shoppers will be looking to pick up a missed item or even just wanting a trip out. But with January 1 being a Bank Holiday is it going to be an option?
Under government rules all large supermarkets must close on Christmas Day – and on Easter Sunday – but that is not the same at New Year. This means there is a mixture of opening hours with some supermarkets operating for reduced hours while others are closed completely, giving staff a well-earned break.

Aldi
