Prince Louis sent royal fans into fits of laughter during the Christmas church service at Sandringham with an amusing Terry’s Chocolate Orange demonstration.

The six-year-old joined his parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte at the Church of St Mary Magdalene last week.

The youngest Wales child became the centre of attention during the sermon when he participated in a chocolate-related demonstration that echoed through the church’s loudspeakers to the delight of waiting crowds.

During the service, Rev Canon Paul Williams incorporated a Terry’s Chocolate Orange into his sermon, asking if anyone knew the proper technique for opening the treat.

The clergyman called upon Prince Louis, explaining: “You have to tap it and unwrap it.”

When the young prince struggled to separate the segments with a gentle tap, he was instructed to “just drop it.”

The resulting loud bang resonated through the church’s loudspeakers, sending the hundreds of waiting royal fans outside into hysterics.

Earlier in the service, when asked if anyone had opened any sweets that morning, Louis had enthusiastically called out: “Marshmallows!”

The sweet treats continued for Louis after the church service, as he joined his family in greeting well-wishers gathered on the Sandringham estate.

The young prince was spotted walking back towards Sandringham House carrying both Cadbury’s and Lindt chocolate gifts from the crowd.

His siblings also received presents, with Prince George carrying a large blue teddy bear and chocolates, while Princess Charlotte collected a bouquet and sweet treats of her own.

The enthusiastic crowd continued offering more treats, along with hand-written notes and handshakes, as the royal children made their way along the path.

Prince William stepped in to limit his youngest son’s growing chocolate collection, politely declining two fans who attempted to give Louis more treats.

“No, no, you can’t give all the chocolates! Definitely not. You’ve got to keep them for yourself as well,” William said with a charming smile.

Louis, who had been standing behind his father, moved forward hoping to collect more gifts.

However, upon hearing his father’s words, the young prince immediately obeyed, stopping mid-step and placing his hands by his sides.

William ensured no feelings were hurt, warmly telling the gift-givers: “Merry Christmas! Have a lovely day!”

The Christmas Day walkabout is an annual royal tradition following the church service, with senior members of the Royal Family, including King Charles and Queen Camilla, greeting well-wishers outside the church.

In a touching moment captured on video, Louis was seen receiving a Father Christmas headband from a well-wisher.

When struggling to manage his growing collection of gifts, the young prince turned to his father saying: “Papa, can you carry some?”
