York Regional Police have charged a Vaughan man accused of trafficking a young girl in Vaughan.

On Thursday, at 2:50 p.m. police located a youth in distress in the area of Steeles Ave. and Bathurst St. while on a check welfare call.

Police discovered the victim, a youth, who was being held against her will, and was being sexually assaulted and was being trafficked “for a sexual purpose.”

Cops said the suspect met the victim at a shopping centre two months earlier and began communicating with her on social media. Cops said the accused lured the victim to his home where he allegedly sexually and physically assaulted her and took pornographic pictures of her which were used as advertisements for sexual services.

Police have released a photo of the accused and say they believe there may be more victims.

Kishawn Jermaine Brooks, 34, of Vaughan, faces numerous charges.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 6800 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
