Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver has been inundated with messages of solidarity after taking to social media to declare “I’m over it now”. The 61-year-old is known for playing Eileen Grimshaw on the cobbles, a role she has held for some 24 years.
Recently, Sue has also joined the Loose Women panel, as well as taking a brief hiatus from Corrie to play Mother Superior in Sister Act The Musical. When she’s not busy with all of that, the actress regularly provides updates on social media.
And on Sunday, Sue had something to share with her 154,000 Instagram followers. A new video showed Sue looking wholly unimpressed.
As she faced the camera, she pointed to her face and said: “This is Christmas. This is what Christmas does to you. I’m quite over it now. Let’s just get on with the new year, shall we?”
Captioning the post, Sue simply added: “Roll on ‘25… [laughing emojis]”. People have rushed to the comments section to agree with her sentiments, as one fan wrote: “Bring in 2025 and let’s get back to routine again”.
A second said: “I feel your pain! I am currently in an exhausted trough of crimbo limbo despair, managing about 46 steps per day (fridge and back)!” [sic] A third added: “Yep I’m over it now, all the Christmas decorations and the tree were taken down this morning all ready for the new year x”
