Ryanair has issued a travel update for its customers scheduled to fly from the UK today, December 27. The airline warned of “potential disruptions” due to weather conditions and advised passengers to stay informed via the Ryanair app for any news regarding their flights.

A statement on its website clarifies: “Affected passengers will be notified and any passengers travelling to/from the UK on Friday, December 27 should check their Ryanair app for the latest updates on their flight.”

It continues to express regret for any inconvenience caused by the weather, noting that these circumstances are beyond Ryanair’s control and impact all airlines operating in the UK on that day. Ryanair operates from a host of UK airports, including Bristol, where passengers can experience services tailored to their travel needs.

In a separate announcement, the carrier heralded the launch of a fresh route from Belfast International Airport as part of its winter 2024 schedule. This expansion includes 13 new routes, featuring a budget-friendly European destination, plus additional winter flights to Krakow, Alicante, and London starting October 27.

Since reopening in 2023, Ryanair’s Belfast base has thrived with passenger numbers up by 64 percent compared to pre-Covid levels, reports the Express.

Ryanair has announced a significant boost for Belfast, transferring over 50,000 winter seats to the city as part of its ongoing commitment to drive traffic and support local tourism.

Dara Brady, Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the airline’s winter 2024 schedule for Belfast, which includes 13 routes and introduces an exciting new destination: “As the UK’s No.1 fares airline Ryanair is pleased to announce our winter 2024 schedule for Belfast, with 13 routes including an exciting new route to Kaunas – connecting Northern Ireland with the Baltics, as well as extra Winter flights to Alicante, Krakow, and London, and giving Northern Ireland citizens/visitors even more choice at the lowest fares in Europe.”

Brady highlighted the airline’s investment in the region since reopening its base in 2023: “Since reopening Ryanair’s base in 2023, we have grown and invested heavily in the region with 2x based aircraft ($200million investment.) and support of over 850 local jobs, as well as driving important inbound tourism year-round.
