A leading Chinese car brand is set to showcase its innovative hybrid technology, which will see electric vehicles paired with petrol-powered “range extenders”.
The company will unveil its C10 REEV (Range Extender Electric Vehicle) for the first time in Europe at the prestigious Brussels Motor Show, which runs from January 10 to 19, 2025.
The new model promises to merge the environmental advantages of electric vehicles with the convenience of traditional petrol cars.
With CO2 emissions as low as 10g/km in the WLTP Combined cycle, the C10 REEV aims to deliver significant environmental improvements compared to conventional vehicles.

The hybrid system offers extended range capabilities whilst maintaining superior fuel efficiency, addressing common concerns about electric vehicle range limitations.
The C10 REEV operates primarily as an electric vehicle, with its electric motor providing direct power to the wheels.
When battery levels drop, the vehicle’s 1.5-litre internal combustion engine automatically activates to generate electricity.
This generated power recharges the battery, extending the vehicle’s driving range significantly beyond typical electric vehicle capabilities.
The system ensures drivers experience the smooth and quiet operation of an electric vehicle while eliminating range anxiety through its petrol backup.
Drivers can manage their preferred energy settings through quick commands on the main screen, allowing them to optimise the vehicle’s performance based on their specific requirements.
The hybrid technology delivers a responsive driving experience whilst maintaining the flexibility to switch between power sources as needed.
The C10 REEV boasts a powerful 158 kW (215 HP) electric motor while the 28.4 kWh battery provides a pure electric range of 145km (90 miles) under WLTP testing conditions.
When combining both power sources, the C10 REEV achieves a remarkable total range exceeding 950km or 590 miles.
The hybrid system demonstrates exceptional efficiency, consuming just 0.4 litres of fuel per 100km (62 miles) in combined mode.
This efficiency translates to minimal environmental impact, with CO2 emissions of just 10g per kilometre.
The C10 REEV supports both AC and DC fast charging capabilities. With DC fast charging at 65kW, the vehicle can recover half of its electric range in just 18 minutes.
