A man tragically died on Christmas Eve, days after a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Clifton, police have confirmed. The incident happened at around 11.35am last Saturday, December 21, in Alma Road, near the junction with Whiteladies Road.
It involved a red Peugeot car and a male pedestrian. The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries, and sadly died in hospital in the early hours of December 24.
His next of kin are being supported by a specially-trained family liaison officer, and Avon and Somerset Police are now appealing for witnesses to the collision to provide any information, particularly the owner of a stall that sells Christmas trees.
Avon and Somerset Police said: “We understand there was a temporary stall set up for the selling Christmas trees opposite the scene at the time of the collision. We’d be keen to hear from the owner of that stall, plus any other customers when the collision occurred, to understand whether or not they witnessed what happened.
