Bruno Fernandes has been called the ‘worst captain ever’ by some football fans after the Manchester United midfielder was shown a red card for the THIRD time this season against Wolves.
Nothing could separate United and Wolves at half-time in their Boxing Day fixture with the game finely poised heading into the second half.
Both sides are in need of picking up three points with United aiming to climb back inside the top half of the table while Wolves are pushing to get out of the relegation zone.
But Ruben Amorim’s were immediately up against it to start the second period when Fernandes was shown a second yellow for a late challenge on Nelson Semedo.

The midfielder protested his innocence but VAR stuck with the on-field decision and Fernandes was given his marching orders.
It’s the third time Fernandes has been shown a red card this season, although his dismissal against Tottenham was later overturned.
The latest blotch on his disciplinary record has seen Fernandes mocked on social media with some United fans even turning on their captain.
One message read: “Bruno Fernandes is the worst captain ever I’d hate to have him at my club.”
Another said: “That just sums up Bruno Fernandes.”
A third mocked: “Sent off three times in a season before January! What an idiot Bruno Fernandes is!”
A United fan pleaded: “PLEASE SELL BRUNO FERNANDES.”
Another posted: “Bruno Fernandes might be the worst captain I’ve ever seen, wth was that??”

Fernandes will now be banned for United’s match against Newcastle on Monday with his return set to come at Anfield against league leaders Liverpool.
The 30-year-old has struggled to rediscover his best form in recent years having established himself as United’s most creative midfielder.
And Jame Carragher recently urged Ruben Amorim to cash in on their captain to try and a better replacement.
“Fernandes has been one of United’s best players during a tough period and would have shone with more quality around him during his Old Trafford career,” Carragher said.

“But he is 30 now and there may be value in offloading him to raise funds. Amorim may see it differently and believe a few more years of Fernandes alongside shrewd additions will serve the team better.
“Selling must be a consideration, however, because Fernandes is one of the few players who can attract a significant fee if profitability and sustainability rules are an issue.
“I’ve always felt Fernandes is a great talent rather than a great player. He creates a lot of chances but can be very indisciplined with and without the ball. That makes it a lot harder for United to defend as a compact unit as he chases the ball all over the pitch.
“It looks like great commitment to the supporters but the manager will be tearing his hair out.”
