Max O’Leary – 7
The Reds’ number one didn’t have an awful lot to do, but when he was called into action he did deliver. Made a huge save to deny Cauley Woodrow late on that saved City’s bacon.
Luke McNally – 8
Another assured display from McNally who looks better with each passing week. Several big tackles and interventions and even some promising moments on the ball. Looks like a real asset to this team, particularly in this formation.
Rob Dickie – 7
As the middle member of the back three, he was always going to be busy against the Hatters. For the most part, he came out on top of his duels and caused the Luton attackers plenty of trouble. The sort of assured display we’ve become used to.
Zak Vyner – 7
After a tough afternoon against the Baggies, the 27-year-old impressed in a more natural position. Won a lot of his duels against Carlton Morris and marshalled Elijah Adebayo well. A much-improved display which showed just how reliable he has become.
Cam Pring – 7
Did the exact job that the team needed of him as he won his battles and provided an outlet. It did feel as though his involvement faded slightly as the game wore on.
Jason Knight – 7
As he always does, battled away in the middle of the park and was the beating heart of City’s midfield. He called for a reaction after the defeat to West Brom and he got exactly that from his teammates.
Max Bird – 8
From his deeper midfield role, the former Derby County man was involved in a lot of what the Reds did well. Some excellent long-range passes and a nice bit of link-up play. Looks more comfortable when positioned alongside Knight than he has done as a number 10 in recent weeks.
Ross McCrorie (off for George Tanner, 64′) – 7
In what was his first start at right-back this season, the Scotland international showed City what they’ve been missing. Got into some really good areas and while there were one or two signs of rust, on the whole, it was a solid display. With Tanner back as well, the Reds’ options on that side are excellent.
Scott Twine (off for George Earthy, 74′) – 7
He hasn’t scored too many in City colours, but this was one of the best. After a quiet first half, the 25-year-old smashed home an opener. Those moments of magic are exactly why Manning was so keen to bring him to BS3 permanently this summer and they can make a real difference.
Yu Hirakawa (off for Anis Mehmeti, 64′)- 7
Back in the starting line-up having been left out against the Baggies and got the fans out of their seat on what was a mixed afternoon. Needs more consistency in the final third, but the Reds always look more dangerous when he is on the field. A strong display

Fally Mayulu – 5
Mayulu started back-to-back games for the first time this season and although he was more involved than he was at The Hawthorns, he still struggled to make an impact. Hooked by Manning at half-time and could have few complaints. He needs to do more to show why City were so keen to sign him.
Substitues:
Sam Bell – 7
Thought he had managed to score his first of the season, but the assistant’s flag denied him. Lead the line well and showed that he is capable of putting himself about.
George Tanner – 7
Back with an assured defensive performance off of the bench to help the clean-sheet effort.
