Tyson Fury has hinted he could retire from boxing in the wake of his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night.

The 36-year-old lost via unanimous decision, despite performing far better than in the first showdown between the two men back in May.

Neither Fury or Usyk was able to secure a knockout on Saturday, meaning the pair have lasted an impressive 24 rounds with each other across the two bouts.

Yet it was the Ukrainian who scored higher with the judges, much to Fury’s dismay.

The Briton was visibly livid as the result was read out and opted to storm away from the ring without taking part in any post-fight interviews.

And Fury, when asked about his future in the press conference after the showdown, was coy on his future.

“You might see me fight again, you might not,” said the veteran.

Fury, at the start of the year, was able to boast an unbeaten record in professional boxing.

But despite being taller and heavier than Usyk, he’s been unable to get the better of his 37-year-old opponent.

Fury has looked like he’s finished with boxing in the past, only to defy expectations to come back and feature in the sport.

Talk of a bout with Anthony Joshua will undoubtedly rumble on. After all, the two men have been keen to face each other for a number of years now.

However, neither man may no longer hold the appeal they once did – with Joshua’s own CV containing defeats to the likes of Usyk, Andy Ruiz Jr and Daniel Dubois.

Fury also said the judges had given Usyk victory as a ‘Christmas gift’.

He continued: “The judges gave him a Christmas gift.

“I feel like I won both fights. I know I had to knock him out but it’s boxing and this happens. There is no doubt in my mind I won this fight.

“Frank [Warren] had me three or four rounds up and a lot of people had me up by at least two.”

He continued: “I’m not going to cry over spilt milk, it’s over now.

“I’ve been in boxing my whole life but I’ll always feel a little bit hard done by – not a little bit, a lot.”

As for Usyk, the Ukrainian was delighted after coming out on top.

He was immediately called out by Dubois, with the Briton saying he wants his ‘revenge’.

And Usyk, it seems, is open to another clash with the 27-year-old.

“Your excellency, make the fight with Daniel Dubois. Thank you so much,” he said.

“I can do more. I’m ready to fight (Dubois), no problem. Next fight no problem. Now I want to go home and rest.”
