Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are set to be suspended from boxing following their rematch on Saturday night.

Usyk won via unanimous decision at the Kingdom Arena, with the 37-year-old winning the 23rd professional bout of his career in the process.

The fight was shrouded in controversy at the end of the contest, with the judges scoring in his favour.

This riled Fury, who stormed out of the ring without offering an opinion, while his promoter Frank Warren was aggrieved as well.

Fury and Usyk are now set to be suspended from boxing following the bout due to mandatory regulations in place.

The WBC requires both fighters to rest for three days for every round fought.

The regulations are in place to protect boxers from harm and ensuring they’re not able to put themselves in danger by returning to the ring too quickly.

Given the showdown went the distance, lasting 12 rounds, Fury and Usyk won’t be able to take part in any showdowns for the next 36 days.

For Fury, it’s now unclear what he’ll decide to do next.

The Briton has lost to Usyk twice and was coy on his future when quizzed in his post-fight press conference.

“You might see me fight again, you might not,” the heavyweight star declared.

Fury also revealed his disgust at the result, insisting the judges had given Usyk a ‘gift’ just days before Christmas.

“The judges gave him a Christmas gift,” he fumed.

“I feel like I won both fights. I know I had to knock him out but it’s boxing and this happens. There is no doubt in my mind I won this fight.

“Frank [Warren] had me three or four rounds up and a lot of people had me up by at least two.”

Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, was also left aggrieved.
