Some such establishments are putting together specially curated New Year’s Eve menus and the like, to really give you a dining experience to remember.

It’s worth checking in with your favourite restaurant, cafe, or local eatery, to see what they can offer you to ring in the new year in culinary style, but we’ve given you a few examples from some beloved Bristol dining spots, below.

The Ivy

This New Year’s Eve, The Ivy Collection is inviting guests to be ‘transported into the magical realm of the circus’ and enjoy a night of ‘fabulous’ food, drink, and ‘dazzling’ entertainment. With a carefully crafted set menu filled with The Ivy favourites, guests are invited to see the New Year in, in style with friends, family and loved ones at their nearest restaurant.

Available to book now, guests can expect an evening filled with celebration, with each restaurant showcasing bespoke entertainment, such as live music or a DJ, so guests will be in for quite the party to finish off the year. From fabulous acts to decadent dishes, guests can expect a menu that combines The Ivy’s classics brought together with a celebratory touch of the season.

To start, the selection includes the luxuriously festive Chilled Lobster and Prawn Cocktail, served with marinated avocado and a tangy Marie Rose sauce. Another highlight is the twice-baked Stilton and Walnut Cheese Soufflé, indulgently cheesy and served in a creamy sauce.

For mains, guests can choose from renowned classics such as The Ivy’s Festive Shepherd’s Pie, prepared with goose, turkey and duck as well as braised lamb and beef, and topped with mashed potato, cranberry chutney, and orange zest. Other favourites include the Lobster Linguine, which combines tender lobster with vine-ripened tomatoes, basil, roasted garlic and chilli sauce, finished with fresh parsley, or the Pan-fried Sea Bass, complete with a delicious, creamed potato, samphire, tomato concasse and a saffron sauce.

As the evening’s adventures unfold and beautifully curated dishes have been enjoyed, diners can expect a sweet finish with choice of delicious desserts. From the classic Ivy Chocolate Bomb, a decadent melting chocolate dome served with vanilla ice cream and topped with honeycomb and hot caramel sauce, to a sweet and creamy Crème Brûlée, served with winter berry cinnamon compote and shortbread.

As midnight approaches, guests will be able to raise a toast to the New Year and experience the magic of the countdown into 2025. Excitement, celebration, and circus cheer will be abundant, bringing together family and friends for a memorable night of joyous togetherness.

What’s more, The Ivy Collection restaurants will also be catering for the morning after the night before with a flavour-packed New Year’s Day Brunch. Guests can start off their New Year’s Day with a hot and savoury Bloody Mary followed by three courses and a side dish to help start the year right and aid in any recovery that may (or may not) be needed.

Choices include The Ivy Truffle Burger, served with thick cut chips, a comforting Chicken Supreme Milanese with Truffle Sauce and topped with a fried hen’s egg, and a fulfilling Lentil and Aubergine Bake – all hearty and satisfying. The Botanist

The Botanist, Berkeley Square.

Celebrating the ‘final feast of the year’, The Botanist will be welcoming guests from 7pm until late, with a welcome cocktail on arrival, a three-course dinner and bubbles at midnight, from £45 per person. The Botanist’s house band will welcome guests into the new year with live music from 8pm – and the table will be yours all night.

The food menu includes starters like houmous, salt & pepper calamari, Korean fried chicken, and tomato and mozzarella arancini. Mains include the likes of burgers, steak and salad, as well as the venue’s famous hanging kebabs, and desserts include chocolate brownie, vanilla raspberry cheesecake, and cookie doughs.

Bar tickets only cost just £15 per person and include the welcome cocktail on arrival and glass of bubbles at midnight, as well as the live music from the house band.

Browns Brasserie

Browns is serving up a four-course menu this New Year’s Eve. Dishes include Pan-Seared Scallops with Apple & Pancetta, Fresh Lobster and 30-day aged Rib Eye Steak. And, with a ‘glittering spectrum of drinks’, from great wines and pink Champagne to ‘truly irresistible’ cocktails, this event promises that you’ll be “glad to raise a glass as we make this New Year’s Eve a spectacular one!”

Meanwhile, all-day dining is available on New Year’s Day, too – from a leisurely brunch with friends, to a cosy evening meal, you can enjoy specially crafted seasonal drinks and a warming atmosphere alongside your food.

Marco Pierre White

Address: Frost Hill, Congresbury, BS49 5AD

Marco Pierre White’s Steakhouse Bar & Grill in Bristol will be serving up its A La Carte menu on New Year’s Eve. This includes starters like calamari, smoked salmon, scotch egg, prawn cocktail, or French Onion Soup, as well as mains like steaks, burgers, pie, forestiere, fishcake, cod fillet, and sides.

Meanwhile, for dessert, you can select from classic cheesecake, apple and almond crumble, sticky toffee pudding, cheese from Blur’s Alex James, dark chocolate mousse, and a range of ice creams and sorbets. Book your table here.

Racks‘ New Year’s Eve party boasts a strict black tie dress code, three free bars, a dedicated casino, live music, and a grand buffet from its talented chefs. The party begins at 7pm, with bars closing at 1am.

According to the team: “Our chefs have been hard at work all year, and have prepared a mouth-watering menu of seasonal specials New Year’s Eve buffet. Making use of Racks Bar and Kitchen’s fine range of quality ingredients, we present to you a seasonal selection of delicious dishes to warm the winter’s night, featuring meat, fish and plant-based options, served in our festive lodge.”

According to the sample menu featured on the official event page here, dishes could include salmon, roasted gammon, beef striploin, mushroom stroganoff, goats cheese tarts, cranberry pigs in blankets, and more. Prices start at £90, with final release going up to £150 – what’s more, if you fancy staying the night, The Clifton Hotel is located just above Racks Bar & Kitchen, but you’d need to book your room separately.
