Police have confirmed the tragic death of a child who has passed away at a property in Plymouth. Emergency services were called to the North Prospect area at around 8.10pm yesterday evening, December 21, following a concern for welfare for a child within a property.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the child was unable to be resuscitated. It has not been confirmed how old the child was or how the death occurred.
However, police have assured that there are no suspicious circumstances and support is being provided to the child’s family.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “Emergency services attended the scene but tragically, despite medical intervention, the child was pronounced deceased.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and the child’s family are being supported by specially trained officers. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
