Every year the Canadiens go on an extended road trip over the Christmas and New Year holiday period so the Bell Centre can be freed up for other events.
This year the Cirque du Soleil’s OVO show will be at the Bell Centre from Dec. 27 to Jan. 5 while the Canadiens hit the road for six games with stops in Columbus, Florida, Tampa, Vegas, Chicago and Colorado.
Will the rebuilding Canadiens be able to survive the trip and stay somewhat in the mix for a playoff spot and what would be considered a successful record for the six games?
Those are the questions answered on this Hockey Inside/Out bonus episode as former Canadiens teammates and 1986 Stanley Cup champions Chris Nilan and Rick Green join The Gazette’s Stu Cowan.
Nilan and Green also share some stories about their experiences on the long holiday road trips when they were players — both on and off the ice — and also talk about their favourite cities on the road.
Let us know what you think in the comments section below, where you can also post a question you’d like answered in an upcoming bonus episode.
