The best performing state secondary schools in Bristol have been revealed. The Department for Education has published the performance data for every secondary school in England for the 2023/24 academic year.
Redland Green School has the best performance figures of any state secondary in Bristol. Almost three quarters (74.4%) of the school’s pupils achieved a Grade 5 or higher in their GCSEs in the 2023/24 academic year.
Bristol Free School had the next highest ratio (66.3%) followed by Bristol Cathedral Choir School (65.8%) and Montpelier High School (65.2%). Redland Green School also tops the list for average grades, with an Attainment 8 score of 61.5.
Bristol Free School had the next highest average (58), followed by Montpelier High School (57.2) and Bristol Cathedral Choir School (56.7).
And again Redland Green School tops the city’s rankings for progressing pupils. Its Progress 8 score of 0.59 works out as “well above average”.
