The mug of alleged UnitedHealthcare gunman Luigi Mangione made an unexpected appearance during a Disney-themed dance party in Boston, reports the New York Post.
The accused shooter’s face appeared on the screen when the Hannah Montana song, He Could Be The One, sung by Miley Cyrus – who played the beloved Disney character – was played during the event held last Friday.
The choice to show a slideshow of Mangione photos has garnered backlash, being called both “sick” and “wildly inappropriate” given Mangione has been charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Some videos show partiers cheering as Mangione’s face flashed behind the deejay who tells the rapturous crowd, “We got to give the people what they want,” according to a video of the event.
Vanessa White, who recorded the footage, told Storyful the event was put on by a group called Bop to the Top, referencing a song from the Disney Channel movie High School Musical.
However, the group does not appear to be affiliated with Disney judging from their website.
On Tuesday, Mangione was indicted on upgraded charges of murder as an act of terrorism in the Dec. 4 killing of Thompson, 50, outside the Hilton in midtown Manhattan.
