EastEnders actress Kellie Bright swore after touching a hot iron and called for assistance on The Great British Sewing Bee.
The television star was in the company of Step’s Ian “H” Watkins, comedian Fatiha El-Ghorri, and reality TV’s Charlotte Crosby for the Celebrity Christmas Special of The Great British Sewing Bee that aired on Thursday night (December 19).
During the initial challenge, celebs were asked by judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young to construct an advent calendar featuring a central festive decoration.
Opting for a design close to her heart, Kellie Bright chose to craft an advent calendar adorned with a celebratory Robin, including the initials of her kids and her grandmother Joy.

Initiating the task, the soap star commented while pressing on letter decals, “It’s a very family, festive piece, this”. Yet, when lifting the iron, she discovered the ‘J’ had transferred successfully onto the fabric, but the ‘O’ had detached, and the ‘Y’ remained stuck to the hot iron.
Daily Record reports Kellie burst into laughter, swearing as her fingers met the scorching surface, shouting out, “Help me, help help”. Witness to the scene, Ian “H” Watkins of Steps laughed in shock.
Regaining her composure, Kellie stated: “It’s stuck, Kellie. Silly wally.”
Despite the hiccup, Kellie’s advent calendar project came out well, earning commendation from Patrick and Esme for her even stitching, pattern consistency, pockets, and embellishments.
Echoing the impressiveness of her work, Patrick remarked: “Kellie – the robin on this green holly leaf just leaks out. It’s almost like a sort of explosion in a way. Its a bit sort of Batman kapow”.

However, upon examining Kellie’s handiwork, Esme spotted a small imperfection in the material. Esme remarked: “I love how this is your family but oh look – a hole”.
Patrick butted in with an accusation: “This is what she does – she puts her little finger in. I think she actually creates them.”
Esme retorted with a quip: “I don’t make holes, I discover them”.
Patrick commented the calendar was “a thing of festive joy apart from the tiny hole” and the calendar finished second overall. Kellie went on to win the Christmas special with a Last Christmas inspired dress.
The Great British Sewing Bee is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
