Aldi shoppers are racing to the middle aisle to nab the supermarket’s latest “gorgeous” Victoria Beckham-inspired scent. As part of the supermarket’s beauty brand, Lacura, Aldi has released a new Classic Italia Eau de Parfum.
The perfume, which costs £9.99 for a 100ml bottle, has caused a frenzy amongst fragrance fanatics on social media. Fans on Facebook’s Aldi Shoppers UK group have claimed that the new perfume “lasts all day” and smells “amazing”.
Some have even said the £9.99 fragrance “smells identical” to Victoria Beckham’s high-end brand’s Portfoino’97 scent. However, the designer perfume retails at a whopping £245 – meaning Aldi shoppers stand to save as much as £235.
In the Facebook group, one member called Jojo uploaded a picture of the £10 perfume and wrote: Honestly I have all the aldi perfumes but this is my fav! Meant to be [an alternative] of Victoria Beckham Portofino that sells for £170 for 50mls!
“This was £9.99 for 100ml and it has lasted on me all day! I even love the bottle! Back tomorrow for another!” In the comments, one person asked: “Really lasted all day? Is it a nice smell?”
Jojo replied: “Honestly it did last all day! It’s a very unique smell! Perfume is very individual and I don’t like floral or sweet but this is just gorgeous! Love it!” A separate member added: “It lasted all day on me too!!”
Another commented: “I bought my daughter the original and wore my Aldi yesterday and it smells identical.” A third said: “I love this one.” Jayne put: “I have the yellow and the gold, love them both! stays on all day as well!”
Priced at just £9.99 a bottle, the new addition to Aldi’s popular fragrance range offers impressive savings of 96% (£235) compared to the pricier counterpart. There are three £9.99 versions to pick from at Aldi – Lacura Golden Coast Eau de Parfum, Lacura Classic Italia Eau de Parfum and Lacura Allure Blanc Eau de Parfum.
The Golden Coast eau de parfum includes notes of passion fruit, saffron, rose, jasmine, agarwood and black amber that “linger on the skin, creating an irresistible aura perfect for the festive season”. In comparison, Victoria Beckham’s San Ysidro Drive eau de parfum costs £245 for 100ml.
As for Lacura’s Classic Italia eau de parfum it is made with an “evocative blend” of calabrian bergamot, black pepper, amber, musk, vetiver and patchouli. This £9.99 fragrance is being compared to Victoria Beckham’s Portfoino’97 scent.
Regarding Lacura’s Allure Blanc eau de parfum, it boasts scents of black cherry, red pepper, violet, rose, black leather and tobacco that “leaves a lasting impression”. Shoppers say it is similar to Victoria Beckham’s Suite 302 perfume.
