Toronto’s transit system has seen its share of strange happenings, but this one is the hottest.

In what can only be described as a bizarre scene, a man set his T-shirt on fire while seated in the back of a TTC bus.

The incident was captured on video and made the rounds on social media on Tuesday. Footage shows a man seated on a bus as flames shoot up from the bottom of his shirt. He then shouts “burn, burn!” as he stands up and removes his shirt, which becomes more engulfed in flames.

The man throws his burning shirt on the ground and is bare-chested when the clip ends.

Social media was burning up over the incident.

“This is exactly why I will always stay away from certain neighbourhoods in the GTA,” one person commented on X.

“I hope this isn’t one of those TikTok trends that catches on,” another X user wrote.

“Nothing about this surprises me,” said another.

It’s not the only recent strange incident on the TTC.

In April, a video that went viral showed a man lighting a crack pipe and smoking it while sitting on a streetcar.

TTC spokesperson Stuart Green told the Toronto Sun at the time that anyone who witnesses an incident like this should report it through the SafeTTC app as soon as possible so they can respond.

In 2023, a video circulated online showed a man hanging a seemingly dead fish from a handrail on a subway train.
