An elderly man has died after his car crashed into a house in Longwell Green, Bristol. Avon and Somerset Police said a grey Honda Civic left the road and collided with a house on Ellacombe Road this afternoon, Wednesday, December 18.
Emergency services, including the air ambulance, a major incident unit and multiple police cars were called to the scene at around 1.30pm but, despite the best efforts of those present, the man could not be saved. Police said he is believed to be aged in his 80s.
Although he is yet to be formally identified, his immediate next of kin have been informed. Road closures were put in place following the crash.

Investigating officers are now appealing for information from the public. They are urging witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to get in touch.
Avon and Somerset Police said: “Ellacombe Road remains closed for collision investigation and pending recovery of the vehicle. If you saw what happened or have any dashcam or other footage which could help, please call 101 and give the reference 5224404953.”
