The Jeffrey and Eleanor Donaldson case is due back in court today.
Former DUP leader Donaldson, 62, has already pleaded not guilty to 18 offences and he is due to go on trial in March next year.
The historical charges include one count of rape as well as allegations of indecent assault and gross indecency.
His wife Eleanor Donaldson, 58, faces various charges.
Neither are expected to be there in person at Newry Crown Court.
The charges against Jeffrey Donaldson relate to two complainants and are alleged to have occurred between 1985 and 2008.
Eleanor Donaldson’s charges are alleged to have occurred between 1987 and 2008.
