A former Buffalo Bills receiver is in hot water for something a sexual partner did not want to catch.
Eric Moulds, who played 10 seasons with the Bills, is being sued by a Western New York woman accusing him of “knowingly” infecting her with an incurable sexually transmitted disease.
In a complaint filed in New York State Superior Court last week, the unnamed woman claims that Moulds infected her and several other women with herpes simplex virus Type 2. She also claims that he was targeting “single mothers who were Buffalo Bills fans living in Western New York.”
The disease can be treated, but is incurable.
In the court papers, the woman claims that in January 2023 she finally accepted Moulds’ offer for an “all-expenses-paid” trip to meet in North Carolina after they had been messaging on Instagram since 2019. The pair then allegedly began a sexual relationship that lasted until November 2023.
She alleged Moulds “knew, or should have known, he had a sexually transmitted disease.”
The woman claims she didn’t find out about the three-time Pro Bowler having the disease until Mould’s pregnant fiancee of eight years contacted her in December 2023 and suggested she get tested because she and “other women whom (Moulds) has relationships with had been transmitted diseases by him.”
The plaintiff alleges that she and Moulds had “unprotected” sexual relations for the last time in November 2023 and then she began to have symptoms a month later.
The suit claims that the plaintiff did not have any other sexual partners after Moulds and before she tested positive for the disease.
This, apparently, isn’t the first time that Moulds has been accused of such negligent actions.
According to the lawsuit, he had been “sued by several women for knowingly spreading herpes over a decade ago.”
The plaintiff also alleges she was offered money to drop the lawsuit and that previous women were paid off and forced to sign nondisclosure agreements.
Moulds’ attorney, Frank LoTempo III, told the Buffalo News that all of the accusations contained in the lawsuit are “false.”
“We are in the process of gathering information/evidence and will be responding to the complaint, which we will vigorously defend,” LoTempo told Newsweek. “I will have more information and comments once the litigation process starts.”
Moulds played 12 seasons in the NFL before retiring after the 2007 season. He had four 1,000-yard seasons during his tenure with the Bills before playing a single season each with the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans.
