A child is among those seriously injured following a three-vehicle collision in Co Fermanagh.

Emergency services were called to the incident at approximately 5pm in the Belturbet Road area of Derrylin on Sunday.

The NI Ambulance Service (NIAS) despatched a Rapid Response Paramedic, six Emergency Crews, one HART Crew and an ambulance officer to the scene.

Police have reported five casualties, and after initial treatment, four were taken to hospital.

A young girl, a woman in her 50s, and a man and woman aged in their 30s, sustained “serious injuries” following the collision however none are considered life threatening at this time.

A man in his 40s also sustained injuries which required hospital treatment.

A spokesperson for the PSNI added: “A report was received at approximately 4.50pm of a collision involving a grey Toyota RAV4, red Citroen Berlingo and a grey Toyota Corolla in the Belturbet Road area.

“Officers attended the scene, alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and five people were taken to hospital for their injuries.”

Police have confirmed the road has since fully re-opened for traffic.

An investigation into the collision has ensued and the PSNI are appealing for anyone with information or dash-cam footage to come forward.

A spokesperson for NIAS previously said: “Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene four patients were taken by ambulance to South West Acute Hospital (SWAH), one to the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) and one to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children (RBHSC).”
