With Christmas just around the corner, I am sure I’m not the only one with gifts still to tick off the list. As December 25 looms closer, the time for shopping is getting less and less.
I’ve already managed to tick off some of the bigger presents early to avoid a last-minute hit to my finances. However, some tricky individuals always leave me clueless, offering up the unhelpful “anything you pick” as guidance.
Enter B&M, the budget-friendly hero of the hour! My local store had two aisles brimming with goodies, and they’re already rolling out tempting deals at bargain prices to top up my stocking filler list.
Whether it’s the classic socks and pyjamas combo or the ever-popular Lynx Africa set, there’s a gift for everyone in these treasure troves. With a £20 cap set for my spree, I was on a mission to see how far my money would stretch, reports the Mirror.
These finds aren’t just perfect for personal gifting; they could also be ideal for office Secret Santa events or to beef up those Christmas Eve boxes for the kids.
Beauty Tools (from £3 to £19.99)
The Elle beauty products caught my eye, featuring items like hairbrush sets, UV nail dryers and sleep masks – all at wallet-friendly prices. Nothing was over £20, and some bargains were as low as £3.
A top pick was the Elle 3 in 1 Hair Styling Set, retailing at £19.99. It’s been lauded by several TikTok users as a budget alternative to the pricier Dyson Airwrap, which can fetch up to £450 in stores.
Chocolate Hamper (£10)
Compared to your average selection boxes, this £10 jumbo pack is more like a hamper! I was on the lookout for this bumper selection of Cadbury chocolates after a colleague spotted the ‘bigger and better’ box making its comeback in B&M stores.
I picked one up for someone who will truly appreciate this quantity of top-notch Cadbury chocolate. For just £10, you get:
It’s worth giving a shout out to the other pre-packed sweet and chocolate boxes available exclusively at B&M. Most were priced at just £5 and catered to specific tastes like the Liquorice Favourites and the Kinder Chocolate Selection.
Some drew inspiration from countries like Australia and America – ideal if you know someone who has recently travelled there. I also enjoy browsing the regular sweet treat aisle and creating my own selection sometimes. This can feel a bit more personal than something pre-packaged and might even be cheaper, depending on their preferences.
Winter Warmers (from £12)
These are perfect for someone who’s always complaining about being cold. Since the weather doesn’t magically heat up after Christmas, most of us will still be dealing with freezing conditions for a few months, so what might have started as a joke could end up being the practical solution to their problems.
B&M offers a variety of items beyond the traditional hot water bottle, targeting specific areas where you might feel the coldest. They have products for your hands, feet, neck, back and belly.
Party Games (from £3)
These are perfect for festive fun with the family over Christmas. There’s a wide selection, including quizzes and silly games that will have everyone laughing.
For TV fans, there are games based on popular ITV shows like Love Island, Deal or No Deal, In for a Penny and BBC’s Blankety Blank. These £12.99 sets are also part of a 2 for £20 offer, which includes other toys featuring favourites like Paw Patrol and Spider-Man, making now the ideal time to shop for any last-minute extras.
Sausage Roll Maker (reduced to £15)
And for those who love Greggs, why not gift them a Sausage Roll Maker? The online description boasts that it can produce “crispy, flaky sausage rolls at home”, allowing you to skip the queues at the nation’s favourite bakery chain.
It’s only available whilst stocks last, with the discount store seeming keen to get the appliances out of the door. The price has seen two reductions – originally £25, it was £20 when I checked, but now it’s now just £15.
The Heat and Go range includes several quirky appliances you might not typically purchase for yourself, such as a popcorn machine, breakfast muffin maker and crepe creation station – all priced at a mere £20, but only while supplies last.
You can browse through some of B&M’s online range using the website here. Items can’t be ordered online, but looking ahead can give you an idea of what to expect in-store.
