When it comes to Christmas few can beat Disney for its magical charm and stunning products. Whether it is the full holiday experience, enjoying a trip around a Disney store or simply browsing what’s on offer online there is always something to catch your eye.

And this festive season is no different. The range spans from decorations and household goods through to toys, adult clothing and fancy dress.

For us this year we decided to take a fresh look at the decorations on offer. Some of ours were definitely getting a little on the tired side and we’d never had a wreath or display of any kind for our front door.

So when we got our Mickey Mouse Icon Festive Wreath I couldn’t wait to get it attached to our front door. The £50 decoration is shaped like Mickey’s head in colourful green red and gold baubles with very clear mouse ears and is really beautiful.

Now not having anything to hang it on or with wasn’t a problem with a bit of festive coloured thread and a careful hand we were away. I loved the look of it and as we have yet to get organised with the rest of our decorations it did make me feel a bit more Christmassy but I wasn’t prepared for the reaction of others.

First, it was a relative who took one look and grabbed her phone to find a link to buy one for herself. She declared it “fantastic” – and that was before it even got on the door.

But then as I worked away at my desk at the front of the house I noticed a couple and a small child stopping outside and pointing at the door. Thinking they wanted something I went to ask if I could help but no – they had seen the wreath and loved it so much they stopped to stare.

And that was just the start. Despite living in a quite street there have been several people taking a look or commenting on it and one even said it had “stopped them in their tracks” and asked where they could get one.

It was pretty secure as well – easily surviving Storm Darragh despite our bins and other items being sent flying down the street. And it is holding up well at staying clean – many other door displays can end up scruffy and tatty thanks to the British weather but this one has remained shining and will easily wash when necessary.

I was pretty impressed with the whole Disney range and it was hard to choose other items. We ended up with a Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse 2024 Fantasyland Castle Festive Snow Globe which costs £25.

The traditional snowglobe features the cute Mickey and Minnie characters in red and green and has the year written on it to record when it was bought. It has a fine glitter “snow” which sparkled when shaken.

We loved the way it caught the light in a beautiful display as it settled back to the bottom. We added it to another couple of festive Disney favourites we have collected over the years and it fits in beautifully.

Obviously a trip to the Disney store – whether online or in person – has got to be about the kids so our final treat was a Stitch Festive Medium Soft Toy from the Lilo and Stitch collection. This is perfect for any little girl or boy – and even one teenager tried to claim it!

The thing I love about much of the Disney plush collection is that they are safe – and suitable from birth. This means even though this one is heading for an older child their younger sibling won’t be at any risk if they get hold of it.

And we loved the cheeky note this particular festive Stitch was holding. That’s one character who might be on Santa’s naughty list!

The items were all just part of Disney’s massive 2024 holiday collection which is available online and which this week has an offer of three for two on selected items. The range has something for everyone with everything from decorations and advent calendars through to adult and kids clothing and sleepwear.

There are also toys, plush and baby items, dressing up and home – not to mention Christmas jumpers. And the prices range across all purse-ranges from the fantastic and fun Mickey and Friends Toy Train Set priced £135 through to the Mickey Mouse Snowman Mug with Lid at £20.

Some of our other favourites include the Mickey Mouse Festive Pyjamas – with sizes for the whole family -priced at £40 for adults and £20 for kids. And for the baby in the family the Mickey Mouse ‘My First Christmas’ baby stocking (£12) was perfect.

All in all Disney has done it again. Whether it is the long-running lines of its Princess and movie clothing and gifts or its special festive offering it has truly hit the spot.
