Factory Corvette driver Charlie Eastwood believes the DXDT Racing team stands a “really good chance” of bringing the fight to their key rivals in the IMSA SportsCar Championship.

Eastwood’s Z06 GT3.R is one of five Corvette cars taking part in the American series which gets underway in the new year at the opening Rolex 24 Hour Race at Daytona in Florida.

It is the first time in 18 years that so many production-based Corvette cars have been entered into the competition, with Eastwood leading the fight for points — and prizes — in the No.36 machine with team-mates Alec Udell, Salih Yoluc and Pipo Derani.

In its maiden season on home soil, the Z06 GT3.R was the car to beat as it chalked up no fewer than 11 victories in North America and 10 in the GT World Challenge America.

The car itself is one Eastwood is familiar with having campaigned it this season in the FIA World Endurance Championship, and with 11 months’ worth of seat time under his belt, he wants to capitalise on that experience in next year’s IMSA SportsCar Championship.

His confidence is being fuelled further by DXDT Racing’s track record as a top-tier, title-contending operation, and notably how it set the car up for its first global win last season.

“I am really looking forward to joining DXDT Racing,” said the 29-year-old.

“I think the line-up we have in GTD is as strong as any on paper, especially as we had a strong test with the team at Daytona recently — there is such an amazing bunch of guys and girls within DXDT Racing.

“You can see why they had so much success in GT World Challenge America across 2024 because they have so many great qualities and so many great people working for them.

“I was looking forward to the season before the test, and now I cannot wait to get started since the test.

“I think we have a really good chance to get some big results, which I am gunning to make sure happens in 2025 in what will be my second full year with Corvette.”

Drivers and cars from four different classes will tackle the 3.56-mile road course under both sunshine and stars on the weekend of January 25/26.
