With the present-buying season fully under way, a report from photography experts MyFUJIFILM found two-thirds of women would prefer a gift with personal meaning over an expensive present, like a diamond. The vast majority believe the thought behind a gift is important, while 72% of all people surveyed, who have received a personalised gift from their partner, felt more appreciated as a result.
The most-wanted gift is custom jewellery, followed closely by photo frames, photo mugs and photobooks. Photo gifts and personalised presents – such as photo books and calendars – are among the top three gifts sought after by young adults (18-25s) this year, behind clothing and footwear.
Only one-third of Brits believe the monetary value of the gift is important to them. On average, women would like their partner to spend £72 on them this Christmas – lower than the amount men would expect their partner to spend (£82).
Gloria McCann, senior marketing manager for Fujifilm Imaging Solutions UK, said: “Gift-giving is a way of showing how much we know and love someone, so choosing something like a personalised photo book of memorable moments, or a canvas print of an image taken on holiday together, will undoubtedly receive a heartwarming response.
“By creating these loving gifts online from the comfort of their home, shoppers can customise a present with cherished memories, funny occasions and inside jokes that only their loved one will appreciate. So, this Christmas, prove that Santa isn’t the only one who knows exactly what they really want this holiday season.”
