A south Belfast restaurant has announced it’s now open in the city’s university area after relocating in search of more business.
Millar’s Brasserie, which is operated by Chris Millar and Matthew Roman-Wilkinson, has moved from Finaghy to University Road.
Its new location is the former home of acclaimed eatery, A Peculiar Tea, which closed in June in response to rising costs.
Mr Millar and Mr Roman-Wilkinson also operate Millar’s Grill & Seafood in Belfast city centre, which remains open.
They said their new venue would offer a Wednesday to Saturday £12 lunch, and a pre-theatre menu of two courses for £22 or three for £28 from Tuesday to Saturday.
And the pair said they’ve hired a new head chef, and plan to set up outdoor dining in the summer.

Mr Millar, the venue’s executive head chef, said: “Moving to University Road was a necessary business decision to ensure the survival and growth of Millar’s.
“With rising costs, Vat, and rates placing immense pressure on hospitality, relocating to an area with higher footfall allows us to secure the future of the restaurant, extend our opening hours, and create more jobs.
“We’ve also employed classically French-trained head chef Aaron Donnelly and designed a menu that combines the best of our culinary heritage with exciting new dishes, ensuring there’s something for everyone.”
Mr Roman-Wilkinson added: “We’re thrilled to introduce Millar’s Brasserie to University Road. This new space perfectly captures our passion for exceptional food and warm hospitality.
“The community here is dynamic and diverse, and we can’t wait to welcome them through our doors.”
