Shannon Lofland was “drowning” in a $500,000 tsunami of debt.
So, the 44-year-old Arapahoe County Sheriff’s deputy made that most 2024 decision to solve her financial woes: She turned to a career in pornography.
But now that sexxx-rated decision has forced her to resign from her 21-year career as a cop despite widespread community support.
Lofland had been a sheriff’s office driver training instructor before jumping into the “mainstream” porn video arena as a result of being unable to cope as a single mom financially.
“I was desperate, I was drowning. I found a legal, lucrative means for providing that support for my family that I needed at that time to save my home for them and feed my family,” Lofland told CBS News, admitting that not telling the bass about her side gig was wrong.

She added: “It was a violation of policy to not request permission to work secondary employment. I know that and I knew that.”

The crux of Lofland’s woes came last year when her family home was obliterated in a storm in 2023. The damage was pegged at $500,000 in repairs.
At first, she tried borrowing money and cutting costs but the family kept sinking deeper in debt. Six sex scenes — about one a month — erased the whopping debt.
“My actions have been made out of desperation. … Some may judge and say there are ‘better’ ways to make money, but at the time I had no other lucrative means for doing so,” she said.
Lofland intends to continue in porn but in her heart, said she’ll always be a cop.
“I found my niche in the law enforcement world as a support role. I have been dedicated and loyal. I truly enjoy what I do and all of the lives I have been able to touch,” she said.
However, the sheriff’s department said there remains “an open active Internal Affairs Investigation”, adding that any complaint is fully investigated “to its conclusion” even if the subject officer resigns.
“Because it is an open investigation we can not speak to it until its conclusion,” a spokesperson told the Daily Mail.
In 2022, another member of the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office was forced to quit after her secret OnlyFans side hustle became public.
“I was in shock and panicking because I never wanted these two parts of my life to collide,” for Lieut. Melissa Williams, 46, said after receiving a $30,000 payout to resign.
A 28-year police veteran had started moonlighting on the porn platform in May 2020 as a means of spicing up her sex life with her husband and also decompressing from her difficult and dangerous job.
“My personal sex life was entirely separate and never affected my ability to do my job,” said the cop-turned-skin-flick-star, who “felt like my bosses were policing my bedroom.”
