Fans of pigs in blankets will be able to visit an exclusive pop-up at their ‘Pigsty‘ in Bristol’s Wapping Wharf this month, where they will be able to ‘pimp their pigs in blankets’. For one day only, Bristol’s very own The Jolly Hog will be opening its own pop-up cafe.
Fans of the festive food will be able to tuck into The Jolly Hog’s ‘Pigs in Blankets Pots’ as well as their ‘Pigs in Blankets Loaded Fries’, with a toppings station where you can customise your dishes with a range of extras. There will be delicious drizzles like cranberry, cheese, or honey and mustard.
Meanwhile, for those with a sweet tooth, there will be the option of hot honey, or chocolate drizzle – and even Marmite. Other toppings also include stuffing, pickles, and crispy sprouts, as well as popcorn, crispy onions, and mozzarella.
What’s more, the first 50 sausage super fans to arrive on the day will receive free Pigs in Blankets Pots, as well as extra festive goodies, including the world’s first Pigs in Blankets cookbook. The Wapping Wharf pop-up will only be open for three hours, though, so be sure to get there early if you want to be in with a chance of some freebies.
The Jolly Hog’s pop-up will open from 11am-2pm on Thursday, December 19. Olly Kohn, co-founder of The Jolly Hog will be manning the festive pop-up and says: “We all know the real star of Christmas are the humble Pigs in Blankets and ours are a hit, with over 1.6 million sold already this year!
“A personal favourite on my festive plate, I’m partial to some maple syrup drizzled over mine but admit I am not quite brave enough to add Dolly Mixtures like some! We’ll be handing out our award-winning Pigs in Blankets paired with festive-inspired toppings to get the people of Bristol in the Christmas spirit and we’re looking forward to seeing how people mix and match the drizzles and toppings and just how wacky they will go!”
