If you’re finding it tough to come up with gift ideas for your little ones, especially if you’re on a budget, one mum has shared her bargain Christmas finds.
The mum hunted around discount stores to find some stocking filler bargains help other parents feel more supported in their Christmas shopping.
“LOVE watching videos like this… so here’s my own little Christmas haul,” wrote TikTok user @meganrichardson963 at the start of her video. “Most bits here are stocking fillers and stuff for the kiddie’s Christmas Eve boxes! But in our house, we LOVE Christmas, so shopping starts early.”
Megan revealed in the video that she bought presents for her two children, aged four and two, from budget retailers – B&M and Home Bargains. She purchased four rolls of wrapping paper, each costing £1.29, from Home Bargains, choosing two different colours so her kids could easily identify their gifts.
The mum also picked up some adorable cream-coloured Christmas crackers adorned with cute Rudolph faces, which cost just £2.99. Each cracker, which includes a party hat, a joke, and a sticker, works out at just 50p.
Megan also bought ‘Letters to Santa’ kits for just £1 each, encouraging her children to share their Christmas wishes. One mum commented on the post, reminiscing about when her own children were young enough to write letters to Santa.
She wrote: “Oh, I miss my five kids being small. The excitement of writing Santa’s letter and posting them. I remember one of mine wouldn’t tell me what they wanted as it was a surprise hahaha I was in a right panic.”
The savvy shopper also snapped up some Snowman Bath Fizzers for just 99p to add a splash of fun to bath time, which she plans to pop into the Christmas Eve boxes. Megan then showcased the glass cups she bagged for her children, featuring festive designs with Santa and an adorable elf, priced at only £1.29 each.
She even found charming gingerbread baubles with their initials from B&M for £2.50, and personalised name tags from Dobbies Garden Centre for £1.99. Bargain hunters would be thrilled with Cadbury’s selection boxes from B&M at a mere £1.19, not to mention the Christmas cookies for £1 apiece that Megan grabbed.
Her haul included a Minecraft glass tumbler for £6, a squishy toy for £3, a Mario bath trio set for £3.50, and a Peppa Pig Christmas book for just £1.50, all from BandM. In the comments section, one mum shared her own experience: “Was in BandM today getting my girls’ presents I could have bought the whole shop if I had the cash.”
Another chimed in: “Loving these hauls! ! Seen so many home bargains ones with so many good bits – I need to go!” A fellow shopper offered a savvy shopping tip, writing: “Pro tip for y’all when it comes to Christmas wrapping paper, wait until late December/early January and go to places like Tesco. They will be reduced to clear at like 19p a roll.”
