Savers have just a few days left to qualify for a £200 cash incentive from Lloyds Bank. The offer, which ends on Tuesday, December 10, is available to those switching to the bank and opening a new Club Lloyds, Club Lloyds Silver, or Club Lloyds Platinum account.
To qualify, customers must switch over three or more active direct debits from their old account using the Current Account Switch Service. However, you won’t be eligible if you’ve already received a switching offer since April 2020 when moving to any Lloyds, Bank of Scotland or Halifax Bank account.
All Club Lloyds accounts come with benefits such as offers on savings and mortgages products and a 12-month subscription to one of several services, like Disney+ or a magazine subscription. There’s a £3 monthly fee, but this is refunded if you pay in £2,000 or more each month.
Club Lloyds Silver and Club Lloyds Platinum accounts carry an additional £11.50 and £22.50 fee respectively. With the Silver account, you’ll receive mobile phone insurance, AA Breakdown family cover and no debit card fees at home or abroad.
If you opt for the Platinum account, you’ll also get worldwide family travel insurance up to age 80, among other extras. Other banks tempting customers with switching perks include Santander, which is offering £150, Nationwide giving away £175, and NatWest with a £180 incentive.
These enticing deals can disappear without warning, so if you’re considering a switch for the extra cash, it might be wise to move swiftly. In other recent banking news, Barclays has issued an alert to its customers following an incident where a customer faced difficulties withdrawing money from an ATM.
The disgruntled client reported: “I just used a cash point and the money never came out, is there any out of hours service?” Barclays clarified the situation, replying: “If the money didn’t dispense, but it’s showing as being deducted from your balance, check again tomorrow morning. The ATM will balance itself overnight and then essentially realise the mistake and send the money back to you.”
