Amazon has just made Prime Video more enticing with the launch of a new Apple TV+ service. The retail giant has added Apple TV+ to its ever-growing list of Prime Video channels, meaning Amazon Prime members can now subscribe to and enjoy the platform through their Prime account.
Apple TV+ is now available as a Prime Video add-on subscription for £8.99 per month, with a seven-day free trial on offer before any commitment is made. This also includes a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime for non-existing Prime members.
An Amazon Prime subscription costs £8.99 per month or £95 per year, with Prime members now able to subscribe to Apple TV+ without needing to download any additional apps. Apple TV+ boasts an impressive catalogue of titles, including Slow Horses, Ted Lasso, Presumed Innocent, Disclaimer, Bad Sisters and Silo, as well as Major League Soccer and Major League Baseball, reports The Mirror.
There’s also more on the way, with the eagerly awaited second season of the Ben Stiller-produced Severance set to debut on January 17. To date, Apple Original films, documentaries and series have amassed an impressive 524 wins and 2,374 award nominations, including the multi-Emmy Award-winning comedy Ted Lasso and the historic Oscar Best Picture winner CODA.
Apple TV+‘s addition to Prime Video follows a successful US launch in October and is now also available in Australia and Canada. Chris Bird, Managing Director of Prime Video UK, said: “Prime Video has become a first-stop entertainment destination for our UK viewers, offering a diverse selection of premium content, including award winning Amazon MGM Studios Originals, live Premier League and UEFA Champions League matches, an extensive selection of licensed films and shows, the industry’s largest catalogue of titles to rent or buy, and 65 additional streaming subscriptions.
“We are delighted to have Apple TV+ and its stellar lineup of UK content join our entertainment catalogue catering to the unique tastes of our UK audience.”
Prime Video is renowned for its impressive array of TV shows and films, featuring hits like The Rings of Power, Fallout, Reacher, The Boys, and Clarkson’s Farm’. It also offers live streaming of select Premier League and UEFA Champions League games, including the Boxing Day round of fixtures, which Prime members can watch at no extra cost.
Elsewhere, Sky has recently unveiled a major revamp of its TV packages, including the introduction of a £15 Essential TV bundle. This package boasts more than 100 channels including Sky Atlantic, plus subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+.
