Ryanair and Jet2 passengers have been warned of potential flight disruptions this weekend due to the impact of Storm Darragh. The Met Office has issued a red weather warning for parts of Wales and England until 11am today, with winds of up to 91mph expected.

Additionally, a yellow weather warning has been placed for areas across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland until 9pm today. Ryanair has advised passengers travelling to or from the UK on Saturday, December 7 that their flights could be affected.

The airline has urged people to check online or on their app for any updates about their flight. “Affected passengers will be notified and any passengers travelling to/from the UK on Sat 7 December should check their Ryanair app for the latest updates on their flight,” Ryanair stated on its website.

“We regret any inconvenience caused to passengers by Storm Darragh, which is outside of Ryanair’s control and affects all airlines operating to/from the UK on Sat 7 Dec.”

As reported by GB News, the airline had previously set the same warning on Thursday (December 5) due to the storm. Jet2 has also issued a warning to passengers about potential flight disruptions as severe weather hits the UK.

The airline anticipated disruptions from Thursday, December 5 through to Sunday, December 8. While Jet2 plans to operate flights as close to schedule as possible, they have urged passengers to take precautions.

“We advise all customers to allow extra time to travel to the airport and check in as scheduled,” said Ryanair. Jet2, on the other hand, stated it would contact affected passengers directly via text and email if flights are disrupted.

They also advised customers to ensure their information is up-to-date. “We will, where possible, board all flights for an on-time departure, however, please be prepared for a longer than normal wait either in the terminal or onboard the aircraft to depart,” they added.

“Jet2.com would like to apologise in advance for any disruption you may experience. Your comfort and safety is our number one priority, we will have you on the way as soon as possible.”
