Queen Mary of Denmark dazzled at Christiansborg Palace on Friday evening, wearing a newly redesigned diamond tiara for a prestigious state banquet.
The 52-year-old royal paired the stunning Rose Stone tiara with a black embellished gown featuring a dramatic back split, which she first wore to a gala dinner in 2017.
The Australian-born Queen completed her elegant ensemble with floral-shaped diamond drop earrings, wearing her brunette hair in a sophisticated low chignon.
The Rose Stone tiara represents the latest example of the Danish royal family’s tradition of modernising their crown jewels, with the gems now arranged in a contemporary bandeau headpiece.

The historic diamonds used in Queen Mary’s new tiara date back to the 1840s.
The precious stones were originally worn by Queen Lovisa of Denmark as a belt in 1911, before being transformed into their current modern iteration.
The redesign project showcases Queen Mary’s personal involvement in modernising the Danish royal family’s jewellery collection, with the diamonds now arranged in a timeless bandeau style.
The transformation process was recently highlighted in an Instagram video, which showed the conversion of a diamond necklace into the reimagined Rose Stone Tiara.

This latest appearance marks another significant moment for the Danish royal jewels, as Queen Mary continues the tradition of adapting historic pieces for contemporary royal occasions.
The state banquet at Christiansborg Palace was held to honour the visit of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Earlier in the day, Queen Mary and King Frederik formally welcomed the Egyptian President, with the Queen wearing a dark green A-line coat over a grey pleated dress.
The formal evening reception continues a busy season of state occasions for the Danish royal couple, who recently hosted Icelandic President Halla Tomasdottir in October.

The King and Queen of Denmark have revealed they will spend Christmas with their four children Crown Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent, and Princess Josephine.
However, the King’s brother, Prince Joachim, and his wife, Princess Marie, will celebrate Christmas separately from the rest of the family.
