Traffic disruption in Belfast this weekend

Road users are advised to expect traffic disruption across Belfast on Saturday 7th December, due to a number of Apprentice Boys of Derry parades.

Delays can be expected from around 8.30am until 10.30am and again at 6.30pm until 8pm.

In north Belfast, the parade will move off from Malvern Street at approximately 8.30am, and proceed along Shankill Parade, Shankill Road, Peters Hill, North Street, before concluding on Royal Avenue at 9am.

The parade will make a return journey back to Malvern Street along the same route at approximately 7.30pm, finishing at 8pm.

In south Belfast, there will be two parades with the first one starting from Barrington Gardens at approximately 8.30am, and proceed along Donegall Road, before concluding at the junction between Donegall Road and Rockview Street at 8.50pm.

The parade will also make a return journey back, along the same route, to Barrington Gardens at approximately 7pm, finishing at 7.20pm.

The second parade will start at approximately 9.15am from Donegall Road to Sandy Row and finishing at Linfield Road.

This parade will make a return journey, beginning at 6.45pm, along the same route, finishing at 7pm.

In east Belfast, the parade will start at Julia Street from approximately 9.30am, carrying onto Leila Street, Dee Street, Newtownards Road and Bridge End, concluding at 10.30am.

The parade will make a return journey at approximately 6pm, from Middlepath Street, Newtownards Road, Dee Street, Pansy Street, finishing on Julia Street at 7pm.

Major Belfast road closed

The A2 Sydenham Bypass is currently closed at Dee Street for Bangor-bound traffic. Vehicles are currently being diverted off the A2, onto Dee Street.

Update: The Sydenham Bypass has now reopened following an earlier crash at Dee Street.

Multi-vehicle crash on M1

There has been a multi-vehicle collision in Lane 3 of the M1 leaving Belfast, just before Stockmans Lane. 
Delays are expected until the incident has been cleared.

M2 delays expected after crash

There has been a multi-vehicle road traffic collision on the M2 south-bound in Belfast, resulting in two lanes being closed.
Traffic is affected between Fortwilliam and Duncrue Street and delays are expected.
Police are currently in attendance.

Broken down vehicle on M1

There is currently a broken down vehicle partially obstructing lane three on the M1 just before Broadway underpass. Motorists have been asked to slow down on approach and pass with caution until the vehicle is removed

Fermanagh road closure

Road users are advised that, due to a carriageway subsidence, Carrowkeel Road is currently closed to traffic between the Tattymacall Road and the Lough Eyes Road junctions.
Early indications are the road will be closed for some time. Please seek an alternative route for your journey.

Two crashes in Belfast causing citybound delays

There has been a crash between a car and a van at the Divis Street off slip.
There has also been a lorry crash on the M1 before Broadway.
Both are expected to cause tailbacks.

Dundrod crash

There are reports of a road traffic collision on the Budore Road in the Dundrod area of Co Antrim, close to the Tornagrough Road, with delays possible.
