Max O’Leary – 6
It’s never a good sign when the goalkeeper is the standout in a 3-0 defeat, but without O’Leary, the Robins’ afternoon could have been even more miserable. The stopper made some big interventions and while he did put Jason Knight under pressure with his pass, it could have been a whole lot worse without him.
Cam Pring (off for Haydon Roberts, 80′) – 5
Was perhaps fortunate not to be punished further after his heavy challenge on Matt Ritchie in the first half. He was sloppy in possession and struggled to link up with Anis Mehmeti as he did against Argyle.
Luke McNally – 5
Looked shaky in possession throughout the game. Put Rob Dickie under unnecessary pressure in the second half as was only saved from embarrassment by a great save from O’Leary. While the conditions made things difficult, McNally was nowhere near the standard he has set in recent weeks.
Rob Dickie – 5
The defender looked uncharacteristically uncomfortable out of possession as he repeatedly pumped the ball long. A few clumsy challenges as he didn’t look at his commanding best. Just never settled into the game.
Zak Vyner – 5
Having looked like a natural right back against Argyle, Vyner was forced to do a lot more defender against John Mousinho’s side than he did Wayne Rooney’s. Didn’t look particularly comfortable and will be keen to put this defeat behind him as he was far too slow to block the cross for the third goal.
Jason Knight – 4
Having been so good in recent weeks, the City captain was caught napping in the build-up to both of Pompey’s goals as he wasn’t able to deal with the home side’s press. The midfielder sets such high standards but was nowhere near them today.
Marcus McGuane (off for George Earthy, 59′)- 5
Restored to the starting line-up in place of Scott Twine and while he was as combative as ever, he didn’t manage to impact games as he has done previously this season.
Anis Mehmeti (off for Sam Bell, 80′) – 5
Although he has been City’s man of the moment in recent weeks, the Albanian international didn’t manage to take the game by the horns. His shooting was often wayward and he didn’t see enough of the ball in the areas of the pitch he could have an impact.
Max Bird – 5
The former Derby man was deployed in a more advanced role ahead of Knight and McGuane and while he started slowly, he carved out the only real chances the Robins produced in the first half. The conditions didn’t suit the 24-year-old’s game and he faded as it wore on.
Yu Hirakawa – 5
The Japanese winger didn’t see an awful lot of the ball, but when he did he looked as bright as ever. He still needs to be more consistent in the final third to start impacting matches week in and week out in the Championship.

Nahki Wells (off for Sinclair Armstrong, 59′) – 5
As he always does, Wells battled at the top of the pitch and put himself about to try and help the Reds back into the game. City need to provide him with more to get the best out of him.
Substitutes:
George Earthy – 6
A few bright touches but struggled to make a difference.
Sinclair Armstrong – 6
His pace offered an outlet, but he had very little service off of the bench.
