Housebuilder Wain Homes has appointed a new managing director for its Severn Valley region as it gears up to double in size over the next five years.
Nick Moore, who will be based in Bristol, has previously held top leadership positions with companies including Barratt and Kier Living. He has also worked at Taylor Wimpey, where he was appointed managing director aged just 37.
Wain Homes Severn Valley builds new homes across Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and the West Midlands, with 11 sites active across the region.
Jim Wood, managing director of Wain Group, said: “Nick’s appointment is a case of the right person at the right time. He comes with vast experience of the whole residential sector and has a track record of leading operational improvements and securing prime sites whilst creating close-knit, motivated and highly professional teams where people can flourish.”
Mr Wood said the firm had “ambitious expansion plans” for the Severn Valley region, with plans to double in size by 2029 from its current output of around 300 homes per year towards a target of 600.
“It is imperative such expansion is controlled and skilfully navigated and Nick has all the attributes to lead us forward,” he said.
Mr Moore added: “Wain Homes has an excellent reputation, not only with customers but also within the industry, where it is known for its ambition, dedication to quality and focus on both its own people and the communities it helps to create.
“As soon as I walked into the business I had a great feeling and I have inherited an exceptionally experienced, competent and capable team who all buy into the entrepreneurial spirit of the business where every individual adds value.”
Mr Moore’s immediate focus will be on securing larger new sites in sustainable edge-of-town locations and support the roll-out of new homes.
