People believe the best family memories are created during outdoor activities together, new research has found. The research by Fever and Moment Factory also found that activities where multiple senses are engaged helped create core memories.

In terms of family wellbeing and mental health, nine in 10 Brits say that multi-sensory outdoor experiences, such as light trails, are beneficial – with 65% believing they are ‘significantly’ important.

The reliance on TV, phone and tablets is a problem that many parents face, with outdoor experiences like hiking or immersive outdoor experience being seen as the top way to reduce this, according to over three-quarters.

The research was conducted ahead of Light Cycles, an immersive experience created and produced by Moment Factory in collaboration with Fever.

Light Cycles invites visitors to embark on a night walk that celebrates the natural world through a series of five immersive art installations. Each unique piece features cutting-edge projection mapping, vibrant lighting effects, and original musical score. The curated trail, stretching approximately 1.5km, explores the hidden communication of trees, the rhythms of plant life, and the hues of a sunset.

Ben Taylor, Regional Manager at Fever, said: “It’s so good to see how important the vast majority of Brits consider multi-sensory experiences in creating lasting fond memories for their families.

“We’ve always known the importance of outdoor activities to families, which is why we’re so pleased to be working with Moment Factory to bring Light Cycles to life. It’s an incredible, original and truly spectacular immersive light trail, one we’re sure will build some core family memories for our guests.”

Jonathan St-Onge, Executive Director at Moment Factory Originals, said: “The research we’ve conducted is very interesting and solidifies what has always been the guiding light of our immersive light trail installations like Light Cycles: when families enjoy outdoor experiences together, they create amazing memories.

“This is why we’ve curated immersive light trails around the world, all the way from Osaka to Milan, and why we’re excited to launch for the first time ever in the UK. Our hope is that we’ve created an amazing, unforgettable experience for people across the country.”

Tickets for the Warwickshire event start at £14.50 for adults and £11.50 for children and are available here.
