Aldi has scrapped two of its popular biscuits leaving fans pleading for help. Shoppers took to social media to ask what had happened to both the Belmont Coconut Rings and the store’s Chocolate Rich Tea biscuits.
The supermarket gave one shopper an unwelcome answer when she asked for help in finding her fiance’s favourite biscuits. In a post on x, formerly Twitter, the supermarket was asked where its Belmont Coconut Rings had gone.
The poster, It’s Ms W to you lol, wrote: “Aldi where have these gone? My fiancé loves them and was going to get 50 packets for his 50th birthday in 3 weeks, been to 3 stores and none on shelf – Please help.”
But they were left disappointed when the store replied telling them they were going to be out of luck. The chain answered: “I’m so sorry but this product has been discontinued. We hope your fiancé finds an alternative packet to fall in love with.”
And in a blow to others the budget chain also confirmed the Chocolate Rich Teas were no more. Georgina had asked: “Aldi, have you stopped selling chocolate rich tea biscuits?”
The chain said: “We can see this product has been discontinued. “We are sorry for any disappointment.”
The biscuits are the two latest products to be pulled off the shelves by the store which regularly updates its range. In October is said it was discontinuing its Moser Roth Vegan Blonde Chocolate Bar which fans had hailed as “the best ever”.
Other lines going over recent months include the Village Bakery Seeded Medium Sliced Loaf which left one customer urging them on social media: “Please put a plea in for me for its return.” The firm replied to the x post it would “see what it could do”.
