Police are seeking witnesses following a motor vehicle collision in Vaughan that left a woman with serious injuries.

York Regional Police said officers responded to a collision in the area of Islington Ave. and Sonoma Blvd. – north of Rutherford Rd. – at around 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Cops said a two-vehicle collision occurred and multiple occupants were injured, including a 20-year-old woman who suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a trauma centre.

Since the collision, the woman’s injuries have been determined to be serious but non-life-threatening, police said.

Four others suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Investigators are asking any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, and anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area at the time of the collision, to please come forward.
